The house was brilliant, like a museum! Pristine and full of character! It’s kept in its original form, like going back in time, and a must for any George Best fans. Communication was fast and the guys were super helpful and accommodating. A short drive to the city centre too!

Step into the Belfast home fifteen year-old George Best left behind in 1961. This was the year George went to follow his dreams in Manchester. Curated with support from the Best family, you will get a sense of how George grew up and where his passion for football began.
The house is home to Best family portraits, George’s school reports and his handwritten letters home from Manchester as a teenager.
An illustrated timeline mural and iconic photographs from George Best’s incredible football career adorn the walls. When you stay as an overnight guest for two nights or more between October and March, a free guided audio tour is available. This provides personal insights on the photographs and memorabilia around the home.
An easy hop by Glider or bus from Belfast city centre will bring you to EastSide Belfast. The beating heart of Belfast’s industrial past, this down-to-earth neighbourhood is thriving once as again. It’s history is etched on many walls and it’s now becoming known as a hub for creativity, arts and alternative thinking.
Former linen mills now house start-up businesses, craft breweries and the best pizza in Ireland! Foodies will love discovering unexpected northern Irish delights dotted around EastSide, with new eateries popping up all the time. The visitor centre at C.S. Lewis Square with Jack’s coffee bar is a good place to start. Get your bearings and sip coffee with the locals in Jack’s. It’s appropriately a dog-friendly cafe in honour of it’s namesake – Jack, the beloved pet dog of C.S. Lewis.
EastSide is also leading the charge in environmentally focused urban development, boasting an unparalleled network of Greenways and dedicated cycling infrastructure.
Easily reached by bike or Glider, EastSide’s streets will give you a glimpse of our troubled past but also the genuine warmth of our local people. A chat with a local is well worth seeking out and sometimes the best way to get the inside tip for what’s happening.

Thanks to Peter for a great introduction to the house and the history of the Best family life. We were not expecting to have a guided tour on arrival so it was a great welcome. We really came away knowing so much more about Georges upbringing and family life. The house was absolutely spotless and very comfortable and the street was so quiet. Overall we have a great stay in Belfast.
